An exploration through electronic music that invites reflection, presence, recognition, and movement.
Meditative dance. Not a class, not a workshop, not a club night. A room, a sound system, and three hours of music arranged to take you somewhere.
Movement quiets the part of the mind that narrates. Dance has always known this. Most dance floors have forgotten it and outsourced the opening to substances.
The music does the work. The DJ does not. Every track is written for this. Each set is sequenced as a single arc rather than a run of peaks.
The DJ is subservient to the process. No mic hype, no drops engineered for a camera, no moment where the room is asked to look up.
An opening, without the drugs and the alcohol. Nothing is served on the floor. The release arrives on its own when the music is honest and the body moves long enough.
Music to dance to. Music to move with. Music to sit with. Music to lose yourself in, and perhaps discover something deeper at the same time. Not as an escape from life, but as a deeper participation in it.
A set is an arc, not a peak.
Landing
The room fills. The music holds space rather than announcing anything. People arrive in their bodies before they arrive on the floor.
The body agrees
Grooves settle in. Breath deepens. The mind lets the body take the lead without needing to be told.
Inside the field
Melody and rhythm braid together. Attention narrows. The floor becomes a single organism moving at one tempo.
Height
The arc peaks in a way that feels earned, not engineered. The lift arrives from inside the music, not from a switch.
Coming back with something
The tempo softens. Space returns. The room walks out lighter, and with a piece of the field carried inward.
Aware.Dance is a label and a body of work created by Tal and Michael, a growing catalogue of tracks and counting. The label defines the experience. The set is where it lands in a room, and that is delivered by Michael, as MikeVanDee.
